If you are looking at this page it is likely to be because you or somebody else you know has issues with food, eating and size. You have made the first step towards living a life free from the turmoil of compulsive eating, bulimia and anorexia and transforming your relationship with food.

If you think you or someone you know may have an eating disorder it is essential that you/they are properly assessed and if necessary, helped in partnership with a GP, nutritionist and any other appropriate professionals. This is particularly so if someone, especially a child is at serous risk of harm.

The National Centre for Eating Disorders asserts that in order to recover properly a person will be healthy in a number of areas. A Counsellor specialising in Eating Disorders and Obesity will explore all the areas that have maintained your debilitating relationship with food. We will address your lifestyle, core beliefs, values and explore your relationship with food, weight, size and body image. We will look at the underlying emotional impact of the eating disorder and how it affects you and those around you.

We believe that as each person is an individual and requires an approach that is suitable for them.

However fundamentally your Practitioner trained by the National Centre of Eating Disorders will draw from as taught, from the methodology of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychological Approaches and NLP techniques.

Getting help with an eating disorder

We can also use The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Hypnosis which both disempower the hold that food can have over you. We also benefit from the professional input from our in-house nutritionist when applicable.
